The simplied procedure for filing claims for the restitution of property in Poland owned by the victims of Nazi persecution, or their heirs, will be discontinued after Dec. 31, 1948, it was announced here today.

After that date, persons who owned property in Poland before the outbreak of the war will be able to file their claims during the next decade, but the procedure –involving considerable court action — will be long and drawn out.

A government announcement revealed that in the Warsaw district alone there are still 4,000 buildings which belonged to Jews before the start of World War II that are listed as unclaimed.
