Four thousand Jews came to worship at the Wailing Wall during the two days of Rosh Hashanah. No incidents occurred to mar the services.

Benches were not allowed in the area before the Wall, nor was there any table on which to lay the Scrolls of the Law.

During the month of Elul just ended only 300 persons visited Rachel’s Tomb on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Usually, many thousands make the pilgrimage to the tomb during the last month of the year.
