Over 40,000 British Jews, more than 11 per cent of the entire Jewish population in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, are now serving in Britain’s armed forces, it was disclosed today by Sir Maurice Bloch, president of the Jewish Board of Guardians.
Sir Maurice made his announcement while addressing the annual meeting of the Jewish Board of Guardians in Glasgow. The Jews in Britain constitute less than one per cent of the general population.
