Forty-three Moroccan Jews were drowned at sea today when a small ship transporting them to Israel capsized 100 miles southeast of Gibraltar, according to U.S. Navy radio reports received here. The vessel, described as a yacht, flew the fag of Honduras. It was thought that the Jews were being taken from Morocco to Israel in a clandestine movement.

It was reported from Algeciras, Spain, that bodies of 10 Jews were recovered. This report said a Spanish fishing boat rescued the captain and two crew members. Their nationality was not specified in the report, Spanish fishermen at the scene of the tragedy said there was no sign of survivors.

The British naval base at Gibraltar reported 43 Jews en route to Israel missing at sea off Spanish Morocco. A Royal Navy tug and R.A. F. rescue aircraft were dispatched to the scene. The British reported that one woman passenger was saved. The report said the vessel had capsized and was still floating although virtually submerged,
