A $5, 000, 000 collection of paintings and sculpture went on exhibition at the Fontainebleau Hotel here today for a two-week period during which proceeds of the showing will be donated to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Among the art pieces loaned by private collectors and galleries from this and 14 other countries are more than 600 paintings and sculptures, the work of 250, artists. Every phase of American art as well as representative works of centuries of European, African, Latin American and Israeli art is on view. The function, sponsored by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and assembled by the Women’s Division of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, will benefit the Eleanor Roosevelt Chair of History and Philosophy of Science at the University.
