Jewish immigration to Palestine in the five months ended May 31 totalled 10,466, it was announced today, as compared with 12,868 for all of 1938. A total of 906 who entered illegally during May, by way of ships which landed them along the Palestine coast, will be deducted from the regular immigration quota. Under present restrictions, the immigration rate has been fixed at approximately 1,000 a month.
