The Board of License, which grants certificates of qualification to teachers of Talmud Torahs, announces that 500 teachers of such schools have already applied for licenses either directly to the Board, or through the two teachers’ organizations, the Hebrew Teachers’ Union and the Jewish Teachers’ Association.
According to the rules adopted by the Board of License, teachers who have been engaged in the profession for three years and who are members of these organizations, are to apply for licenses to their respective organizations. Others are to apply to the Board directly. Teachers who have been engaged in the profession for less than three years will, in order to be licensed, be required to pass examinations, which have been set to take place next April 15, 16 and 17.
