Over five hundred women pledged their services on behalf of the United Palestine Appeal, at a gathering in honor of Mrs. A. J. Freiman, Dominion Hadassah president, and attended by both senior and junior chapters of the organization.
The United Palestine Appeal which opens in Montreal on May 11 with a dinner given by the Zionist Order of Habonim, honoring A. J. Freiman, president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, and campaign chairman, has as its objective the sum of $300,000, of which $1000,000 is Montreal’s quota.
Mrs. Freiman stressed the importance of having every Hadassah member give her full cooperation to the campaign and pleaded that Hadassah continue to play the important role it has always filled for the cause of Zion. She announced that the Hadassah convention will take place in Ottawa on September 7.
