Golda Myerson, Israel’s Minister of Labor, was the guest of honor at the 21st annual Third Seder of the National Committee for Labor Israel which was held here last night at the Astor and Commodore Hotels. Some 5,000 representatives of organizations affiliated with the committee attended.
Messages were received from Israel President Isaac Ben Zvi and from Mordecai Namir. Secretary-general, of Histadrut. Whose behalf of the committee raises funds in the United States. Among the chief speakers at the Astor Hotel was Assistant Secretary of Labor Philip M. Kaiser who drew a parallel between the freedom of labor in this country and in Israel. At the Commodore Hotel Dr. Israel Goldstein told the guests that “Israel is eagerly awaiting tangible evidence that the Eisenhower Administration will see to it that Israel’s peace and security are safeguarded and that its economic viability is assured.”
