The State of Israel, and its Ambassador in the United States, drew high praise and pledges of firm support tonight at the annual “Third Seder” sponsored by the National Committee for Labor Israel, attended by 5,000 guests crowding the ballrooms of two large hotels.
Israel’s Ambassador Abba S. Eban, who also represents his country at the United Nations, was guest of honor at the Histadrut event. A tribute to him as a man “whose eloquent exposition of Israel’s cause has made him a spokesman not only for Israel but for all small nations” was voiced by the chairman of the $5,000,000 Histadrut campaign, Judge Samuel S. Leibowitz.
