A quota of $50,000, to be collected in the next few weeks for the relief of Polish Jewry, was decided upon at a meeting of the committee of 100 chosen to direct Polish Jewish relief work, it was announced Friday. The Lodz Young Men’s Benevolent Society has pledged itself to raise $10,000, Herman B. Oberman, chairman of the group, said.
Benjamin Winter, Gershon Bader and Zelig Tygel were elected as a committee of three to take charge of the relief drive. A subcommittee of twenty-one was also chosen to assist in national relief efforts for Polish Jews.
