A sum of $50,000 was allocated to relieve unemployment in the Jewish colonies from the recent gift of $100,000 made by Nathan Straus on the occasion of his eightieth birthday.
The remaining $50,000 was directed for the two health centers in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv which he established.
