The British Government has approved a $50,000 expenditure for further development of the harbor at Haifa, Palestine, it was stated today in the House of Commons by Sir Cunliffe Lister, the Colonial Secretary.
Detailed plans for extending the development of the Haifa harbor are now in the hands of the Colonial Office, Sir Cunliffe said. The government is also cooperating with the Ministry of Industry on certain plans to improve the export of Palestinian oranges to other countries, the Colonial Secretary informed the House of Commons.
The House of Commons was also informed that extensive measures are under way to meet the requirements for storing citrus fruits in Palestine, which would be of great assistance to the Palestine export trade.
