Fifty-two Jewish immigrants, most of them from Eastern Europe, who were assisted in emigrating to the United States by the United Hias Service, were among the 167 newcomers who arrived at Kennedy International Airport last night aboard a special flight chartered by the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration. The event marked the observance yesterday of World Refugee Day.
The Jewish migrants will be resettled throughout the country with the cooperation of the New York Association for New Americans and local Jewish federation agencies in Chicago, Detroit, Jersey City, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh and Seattle.
