Five hundred and twenty-nine Jewish refugees from Russia landed in Halifax yesterday upon the arrival in port of the Cosulich liner President Wilson, from Trieste. The majority of the party which landed here yesterday is bound for Montreal and Toronto, while the remaining refugees are bound for the western provinces.
The next party to arrive in Canada will be on board the Fabre line steamer. Asia, which will bring about four hundred more refugees about the end of November. With the closing of the St. Lawrence within the next few weeks, it is more than likely the party will land at Halifax.
