FIFTY-FOUR PROFESSORS OF WARSAW, WILNO AND POZNAN UNIVERSITIES, IN WHICH JEWISH STUDENTS ARE FORCED TO OCCUPY “GHETTO BENCHES,” TODAY MADE PUBLIC A FORMAL PROTEST AGAINST THE SYSTEM OF SEGREGATION. INVITING OTHER PROFESSORS TO JOIN THEM, THE SIGNATORIES CONDEMN THE GOVERNMENT-SANCTIONED BENCHES AS A “HEAVY BLOW TO POLISH CULTURE AND A GREAT DANGER TO ITS FUTURE.”

A WOMAN DEPUTY YESTERDAY VOICED THE FIRST NON-JEWISH PROTEST IN THE SEJM (LOWER HOUSE) AGAINST PICKETING OF JEWISH SHOPS. MADAME PELZYNSKA, OF WILNO, INTERPOLATED THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION ON PARTICIPATION OF SCHOOL YOUTHS IN ANTI-JEWISH PICKETING AND DISTRIBUTION OF INCITING LEAFLETS. SHE SAID SUCH ACTIVITIES WERE A DEMORALIZING INFLUENCE.
