The estimated number of Jewish families in Australia is 5,700 according to a statement issued by the State Government statistician recently, the figures being as of June 30, last. These figures represent approximately 11,700 and 25,000 persons respectively. They show an increase of 4,000 since the last census in 1921. It is calculated that approximately 2,500 of these have entered Australia during the last eighteen months. In New South Wales there are 2,600 families.
