King George’s New Year’s honors list includes knighthoods for Robert Mayer for service to music and Adolphe Abrahams, dean of the Medical School of West-minster Hospital. Bertram Cohen is elevated to the Fourth Class of Chancery of the Order of Knighthood. M.E. Waldman, member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews’ aliens committee, and Samuel Saltzman, of New Zealand, are made officers of the Order of the British Empire. Isaac Melamed, Public Works Department superintendent in Palestine, is made an honorary member of the Order of the British Empire.
