SIX JEWS WERE INJURED IN OSTROW-MAZOWIECKI, IN THE PROVINCE OF BIALYSTOK, YESTERDAY AFTER A PUBLIC CELEBRATION OF POLAND’S DEFEAT OF THE SOVIET ARMY IN 1920 HAD BEEN TURNED INTO AN ANTI-SEMITIC DEMONSTRATION.
ANTI-JEWISH ELEMENTS IN THE CROWD OF CELEBRATORS ATTACKED THE JEWS, SMASHED WINDOWS IN ALL JEWISH SHOPS AND MANY IN JEWISH HOMES AND SYNAGOGUES, AND DEMOLISHED SEVERAL HOUSES. POLICE RE-ESTABLISHED ORDER. NO ARRESTS WERE MADE.
FOLLOWING THESE EXCESSES JEWISH INHABITANTS OF TOWNSHIPS NEAR OSTROW-MAZOWIECKI, TERRORIZED BY ANTI-SEMITES, FLED IN FEAR OF A POGROM.

THROUGH A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN A STORY IN YESTERDAY’S JTA NEWS ON IMPORTS FROM POLAND THE AMERICAN-POLISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE APPEARED AS “THE AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.”
THE JTA IS INFORMED BY THE FEDERATION OF POLISH JEWS IN AMERICAN THAT THE DESCRIPTION OF THE LATE DR. L.L.ZAMENHOF AS A MERCHANT IN A WARSAW DISPATCH ON THE ESPERANTO CONGRESS PUBLISHED IN THE JTA NEWS OF AUG. 11 WAS INCORRECT. HE WAS AN EYE SPECIALIST, IT WAS STATED.
