Six hundred entrance visas have been issued by the French Government for Rumanian Jewish orphans saved from Transnistrian deportation camps, it was reported by Rachel Sternbuch, representative of the Relief Committee for Refugees, who arrived here today from Switzerland.
Miss Sternbuch said the visas will be granted only to Orthodox children. The Joint Distribution Committee maintains 60 homes housing 5,000 children in Rumania. They include 1,500 orphans whose parents perished in Transnistrian camps.
