More than 65,000 children have passed through Youth Aliyah institutions during the 20 years the movement has been in existence, Moshe Kol, head of Youth Aliyah, reported in connection with the celebration of Youth Day today which marks the anniversary of the movement.
Mr. Kol said that 35, 000 of these children had been aided by the movement in the six years since the State of Israel was established. Most of the children now being assisted by the Youth Aliyah institutions come from North Africa, he stated. He also reported that of some $29,000,000 invested in the movement, $22,000,000 came from Hadassah.
