The Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, will definitely get a $650,000 loan from a London bank, it was learned here today when the Palestine government declared its readiness to approve such a loan.
The loan will be granted on four and one-half per cent interest. It is to be repaid within twenty-five years. The sum will meet the cost of erecting new Jewish school buildings in Palestine.
The Municipality of Haifa today appointed a delegation to seek the approval of the Palestine government for a loan of $2,500,000 which the city wishes to raise in order to develop certain projects.
In an effort to gain larger influence in London political circles, the Arab party led by the Mufti, announced its intention to establish a political propaganda bureau in London. The bureau is to be headed by Jamal Husseini.
Efforts to establish a supreme Arab Committee for Palestine are apparently meeting with success, Al Difaa, organ of the extreme Arab nationalist faction reports.
The proposed committee will consist of representatives of the four existing Arab parties and will have functions for the Arabs similar to those performed for the Jews by the Jewish Agency for Palestine.
