The “Davar” relates how Arab villagers of Bectomar, near Hebron, sheltered and fed seven Jews who managed to escape the Hebron massacre. In token of gratitude to these villagers, Jewish warehouses in Jerusalem undertook to market all their produce.
How a Latin priest saved Rabbi Kaniel of Haifa was described today. An armed mob had surrounded the Rabbi’s house, located in a narrow street near the bazaar. Assisted by many of his congregants, the priest prevented the mob from carrying out their evil design against the Rabbi.
