The Education Ministry said today that nearly 70, 000 students from Oriental and new immigrant communities will benefit from more than 1, 000, 000 pounds ($333, 333) in secondary and vocational school scholarships.
The scholarship stipends are being provided through a joint Government -Jewish Agency fund. Some 80 per cent of the recipients are from Oriental communities and the rest from families who immigrated to Israel during the past four years.
