Arrangements were completed today in scores of homes hear the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Brooklyn to accommodate a group of 70 Lubavitcher hassidim from Israel, due to arrive here early tomorrow morning aboard a chartered El Al airliner, for a High Holy Day pilgrimage to visit Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
The 70 hassidim, most of whom live in Kfar Chabad, a Lubavitcher settlement in Israel, constitute the first such group to make an organized pilgrimage from Israel to spend the holidays with the leader of the hassidic sect. Hundreds of hassidim from the New York area will give the Israeli guests a Joyful welcome at Idlewild Airport.
To facilitate the entry of the group with a minimum of protocol, the State Department has issued a single visa for the entire group. The guests will return to their homes in Israel after the holidays.
