Seventy per cent of the 1,300 immigration certificates available under the new labor schedule have been earmarked for bachelors, it was learned today, with 10 per cent for maidens and 20 per cent for families.
Of the 1,300 entry permits remaining in the 1,800-certificate schedule for the six months beginning last Oct. 1 following a deduction by the Government, the Jewish Agency for Palestine has already received 650 and 650 will be granted at the end of January.
The certificates are allocated according to occupations as follows: 250 for persons engaged in agriculture, 50 for industrial experts, 750 for pioneers and professionals, and 250 have been reserved for relatives of Palestine residents. Capitalist immigration is unrestricted and does not come under the schedule.
