Seventy thousand Jews in Iraq have registered for emigration to Israel while 25,000 of the applications for exit permits have been approved by the Iraq authorities, a Bagdad report received here today stated.’
Iraqi authorities are reported to have refused to accept further bids for emigration from Jews who wish to go to any countries besides Israel. It was also reported here that the rate of Israel-bound Jewish emigration from Iraq has been decreasing recently.
