$71,000 to Charities in Will of Isaac Marx

The estate of Isaac Marx, who died on May 6, leaving $71,000 to charity, was appraised in the office of the Transfer Tax Department Friday at $1,667,406 gross and $1,556,200 net. Principal assets were made up of stocks and bonds valued at $1,076,653.

Institutions sharing in the bequests included Beth Israel Hospital Association, Mt. Sinai Hospital, the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, the Montefiore Home and the United Hebrew Charities of New York, $7,500 each; the Lebanon Hospital Corporation, the Home of the Daughters of Jacob, the Charity Organization Society of New York and the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, $5,000 each; the Uptown Talmud Torah Association, the First Hungarian Congregation, Ohab Zedek, and the New York Dispensary, $2,500 each; the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigration Society, the Hebrew Free Loan Association and Agudath Achim Chessed Shel Emed, $2,000 each.
