Some 7,500 young Jews are now in active service as supernumeraries and as reserve forces in pales tine, the new York Times reported today from Jerusalem. Their effectiveness in clashes with Arab bands is admitted by the British commanders. This body, the dispatch says, “would in the event of a war become a valuable instrument to aid Britain in defending her interests in the Near East, it is believed.”
