Nearly 800 immigrants from Eastern Europe arrived in Israel in 1955, according to figures announced here today by the Jewish Agency. Of the total, 286 were from Hungary, 279 from Russia, 133 from Poland, 36 from Czechoslovakia and 51 from Rumania. A transport of 1,000 immigrants arrived at Haifa today. Most of them came from North Africa.
