The Italian steamer S.S. Caserta sailed from Naples last night with 684 Czech and 116 Austrian Jews on route to Israel. All of the immigrants have been living in Italy awaiting transportation to the Jewish state. A group of 80 Italian Jewish displaced persons scheduled to sail aboard the Caserta remained in Naples because of the lack of shipping space.
A Jewish flying school, with an enrollment chiefly of Israeli students, celebrated the completion of its program today and will close down shortly. The school is housed in a villa outside Rome.
