The Palestinian vessel Cairo City arrived here today with 165 Jewish refugees from Europe, most of them orphaned children.

For one group aboard the ship their arrival marked the first anniversary of their liberation by the Red Army from a German concentration camp. They said that they had been well treated by the Russians and no efforts was made to hinder them from emigrating to Palestine.

The French steamer Champollion carrying more than 800 refugees is due here tomorrow. Nearly 600 of its passengers are children from DP camps in the American, British and French comes of Germany.

Several American veterans who have enrolled at the Hebrew University here under the educational provisions of the G.I. Bill of Rights were welcomed today at the University’s club by Dr. Judah L. Magnes, American-born president of the University, and Mrs. Rose Jacobs of New York, only woman member of the Jewish Agency.

Before beginning their studies the veterans will make a ten-day tour of the country. They reported that other ex-soldiers from the United States would be coming to the Hebrew University next term.
