Women in Greater New York raised $8, 000, 000 in the past four years for the medical and social service agencies affiliated with the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, it was reported today Mrs. Richard Percy Limburg, as she released the text of her annual report.
Mrs. Limburg, who has just completed her four-year term as chairman of the board, declared in her administration’s report that the number of gifts secured for Federation by women has been increased 50 percent since 1950 as a result of extension of women’s efforts in many communities throughout Greater New York.
In the two decades that women have participated in Federation’s voluntary fundraising work, she declared, they have contributed $28,500,000 toward the maintenance and expansion of Federation’s health and welfare network.
