The eighty-first annual convention of District Lodge No. 2 of the B’nai Brith opened here today in the Oliver Hotel, with fifteen hundred delegates and visitors present from 66 lodges in the states of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. Sixteen lodges in Indiana were represented at the conclave which will continue through Tuesday.
Among the speakers at the convention are Sigmund Livingston, of Chicago, head of the Anti-Defamation Commission; Rabbi William M. Stern of Temple Beth-El; and Richard E. Gutstadt, of Chicago, national membership director of the order. Alfred M. Cohen, president of the B’nai Brith, heads a list of distinguished guests.
