Approximately half of the present Jewish population of Warsaw–190,000–are classified as day laborers and more than 83,000 of them are employed in labor gangs, the Prague Nazi newspaper Neuer Tag reports.
Aside from the 83,000 in labor gangs, there are 60,000 craftsmen, 32,000 merchants, 7,000 industrial workers. 5,000 professionals and 3,000 physicians. The German authorities maintain the “necessary segregation” of Jewish and Polish workers, the paper says.
