Eighty-seven persons were unofficially reported killed in an uprising of the Chilean National Socialists in Santiago yesterday, which was put down by Government forces. The Nazis, who have no racial program, held two buildings near the presidential palace for three-and-a-half hours until they were dislodged by machine-guns and light artillery.
General Carlos Ibanez, a candidate for president who was supported by the Nazis, was arrested in connection with the rebellion. A state of siege was declared. The Nazis claim 20,000 members.
