A 102-year-old woman from New York City became the oldest American immigrant to Israel when she bowed to her daughter’s wishes and moved to the Jewish state. Belle Goldstein arrived in Israel on Monday after bidding goodbye to her older brother in New York. Goldstein was born in 1896, more than a year before the first Zionist Congress was convened in Switzerland.
