A Berlin imam is to be deported for hate speech. A spokesperson for the Berlin Senate Interior Committee said Thursday that Imam Yakup T. of the Mevlana Mosque in Berlin is to be deported because of numerous sermons in which he expressed sympathy for suicide bombers, fomented hatred against Americans and Jews, and predicted “hellfire” for Germans.
A three-year program to deliver 100 Torahs to the Israeli army was recently completed. The program was carried out by the National Council of Young Israel, with help from El Al, Israel’s national airline.
