A Bush administration official said the United States is considering recognizing Israeli sovereignty in parts of the West Bank. The official told JTA on Thursday that some sort of recognition of Israeli sovereignty over three West Bank settlement blocs could be part of a withdrawal plan in which Israel would pull out from the Gaza Strip and most of the West Bank.
