A Canadian legislator apologized in the House of Commons for remarks he made comparing the Canadian government to Nazi Germany because it is considering deporting former Nazi guard Helmut Oberlander without allowing him the right of appeal. Andrew Telegdi’s comparison had been widely condemned, with the Prime Minister’s Office calling it “extreme and offensive.”
