A Christian leader in Jerusalem was ousted amid charges that he allowed church land to be sold to Jews. “We officially announce today the removal of Patriarch Irineos I,” the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem said in a statement. “We hold him responsible for corruption (and) giving up church properties.”
