A contribution of $25,000 from Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Freiman, presidents of the Canadian Zionist Organization and the Canadian Hadassah, opened the United Palestine Appeal drive at a banquet Sunday evening at the Mount Royal Hotel. Sixty-five thousand dollars was raised at the banquet.
Col. Frederick H. Kisch and Rabbi Meyer Berlin were the principal speakers. Dr. Herman Abramowitz, chairman of the Montreal U.P.A., presided.
