Through an unfortunate typographical error the sum contributed by American Jewry for philanthropies here and abroad during the last year was given as $72,836,610 instead of the correct figure of $72,189,610. This changes the other key figures. Thus $37,135,000 was raised for specifically Jewish causes by the several national organizations while $35,054,610 was given to Jewish and non-Jewish causes in individual benefactions, of which $28,715,000 or 39 percent of the total for the year, was contributed by Jews to non-Jewish causes. The sum total given for Jewish causes was $43,474,610.
