The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith today called upon President Truman and the Democratic and Republican parties to put into positive action the recommendations of the report of the President’s Committee on Civil Rights.

In a communication addressed to Sen. J. Howard McGrath, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and former Congressman J. Carroll Reece, chairman of the Republican National Committee, Justice Meir Steinbrink, national chairman of the Anti-Defamation League, urged that the President’s Committee’s proposal for strengthening civil rights in the United States be incorporated in the platforms of both major parties when they assemble for national conventions in Philadelphia next year.

Justice Steinbrink suggested that the President personally ask the Congress for the legislative action the committee recommended, and direct an appeal to Governors suggesting they take all possible action within their province.
