A dozen people gathered at a monument in Bialystok, Poland, on Monday to mark the 56th anniversary of the second largest revolt in a Jewish ghetto during World War II. On Aug. 16, 1943, some 300 Jews began fighting after having learned of Nazi plans to liquidate the ghetto’s 60,000 residents.
