An appeal was dispatched to the convention of the American Federation of Labor in San Francisco by the American Jewish Congress yesterday, urging the American Federation of Labor to renew its declaration of boycott against Nazi Germany and calling upon it to take the leadership in pursuing the boycott.
The request, in the form of a telegram signed by three leaders of the Congress. Dr. Stephen S. Wise, honorary president; Bernard S. Deutsch, president, and Nathan D. Perlman, first vice president, suggested that the American Federation of Labor unite under its banner all organizations now engaged in boycott work.
A request that the convention set aside a day for a discussion of the boycott movement was contained in the telegram. The full text of the message, which was addressed to William Green as president, was as follows:
