A father of four was killed in a barrage of Palestinian rocket fire into the Sderot area.
Several others were wounded and many were treated for shock when at least 40 Kassam rockets struck Sderot and surrounding communities in the western Negev from the nearby Gaza Strip.
The 47-year-old man killed apparently was in a car parked next to Sapir College on the outskirts of Sderot, Ha’aretz reported.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the barrage, which took place hours after Israeli airstrikes killed five of its members who apparently were planning a major terrorist attack against Israel.
