A federal commission resisted Jewish groups’ call for governmental oversight of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activity on college campuses. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights heard testimony last Friday from the American Jewish Congress, Zionist Organization of America and the Institute for Jewish and Community Research on allegations that the atmosphere on many campuses has become oppressive, and in some cases threatening, for Jewish students.
