A former director general of the United Jewish Appeal and founder of its Israel office has died. Chaim Vinitsky, who many called “Mr. Israel,” died earlier this month in Israel. Vinitsky worked for the UJA for more than 25 years before working with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
