A former head of Israel’s Mossad was invited to join a panel evaluating the anti-terror capabilities of the New York City Fire Department. New York officials asked Shabtai Shavit, as well as former CIA Director James Woolsey, to sit on the panel. City officials believe the fire department functioned below par during the Sept.11 terror attack at the World Trade Center.
